I only just realized that I never posted the photos from my somewhat epic (though pitifully short) trip to the Philippines in November. More will be coming along shortly.

Sadly, due to a camera malfunction, I lost over 200 photos that I took during the first half of the trip. It was most devastating. Aside from the photos I took at the Cultural Presentation, the photos I lost were hands down the ones I was most excited about. Lots of arty farty compositions, mostly macros. Sad sad. But then, such is life. Art is ephemeral.

Elementary, dear Watson. Elementary.

Hooray! The mystery of the washed out deviation colours has been solved!

Ever since I started shooting in RAW, I've found that when I upload my photos to the web, they lose most of their colour and vibrance. So, I'm glad I've now solved the problem, and will begin to go backwards through my RAW deviations and re-calibrate them appropriately. I might even now upload some of the photos I took while I was in the Philippines. I didn't upload any until now because they were so washed out when I uploaded them elsewhere, but now, I feel I have a new lease on... the web...?

For anyone else that might possibly stumble onto my page and coincidentally have the same problem, try opening your image in photoshop then going to Edit > Convert to Profile . From the "profile" drop down menu, select "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" and then from the "intent" drop down menu, select "Absolute Colorimetric".

Thank you Red-Snapper for helping me figure out what was going on there. And to marshrr for pitching in and throwing in your two cents in too. It all helped! And now I'm a very happy camper because I feel my work is more appropriately represented. :thanks:

National Student Drama Festival, UK

Sun Feb 25, 2007, 12:57 PM
Hooray!

Just found out today that our show, Haozkla, has been accepted to the National Student Drama Festival in Scarborough England. We are all very excited.

The story and script are original, written by our company. All of the puppets were designed by us (several by me!) and all of them hand crafted by members of our company (again, mainly by me, the director, and one other company member)... This is the most prestigious amateur drama festival in Britain and quite an honour to be selected... so we're all very excited!

Hurrah!

Good things come of branching out artistically.

Unknown Artist Feature?!

Sun Nov 26, 2006, 4:27 PM
How the hell did that happen?!

I have just moved to Los Angeles from Scotland, so I've been busy with my new job, my new apartment, my new live-in relationship and everything else that accompanies a 5,000+ mile move. So I've not been on DA in well over a month or more...and did not expect to have a single message, let alone hundreds on the tails of a slot in this month's Unknown Artists feature.

So my most sincere thanks to everyone whose taken a moment to browse my gallery, leave a comment... and any and everything else. Thank you so much for your support and feedback. It's beyond appreciated! And to whomever suggested and/or picked me... thank you to you too! I'm both humbled and flattered.

:boogie:  :boogie:

Until next time,

Libby xoxo

Tag

Wed May 17, 2006, 3:13 PM
Thanks so much to Bob for featuring me in his journal game of tag. I'm very flattered and so, about to pass on the love.

The person I'm tagging is not unknown here on Deviant Art (and for that reason, I highly doubt he'll continue the game of tag), but I find his photography truly inspiring, and so he deserves a feature.

So I tag =sigpras

A few notable pieces:
Escape
Four Brother 2
Hand in Hand
Loneliness
Silent Morning
Facing the Sun

He's also an incredibly supportive member of the community and all around stand up example of what a Deviant Artist should strive to be :thanks:
